About
He was born in 1985 Hungarian dancer, teacher, choreographer, performing artist started dancing at the age of six in his hometown dance school. In his elementary school years he was 6th time Hungarian show dance champion and in 2000 he won the world championship of junior disco dance solo male category in the IDO World Championship in Portoroz, Slovenia. Between 2000-2005, he studied in the Hungarian Dance Academy as a ballet dancer. During these years he started to create short solos, Piaf 2002, Life in a Glashouse, 2004. After leaving school in 2005 Milan joined to the french Hungarian physical theater Compagnie Pal Frenak to create the show „Mil et An” and he also made an apperance in „Les hommes cachées”. During these years Milan started to train capoeira in the Grupo Capoeira Agua de Bebber and also brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the direction of Max Carvalho. In 2007 joined Cirque du Soleil for the North American and European tour of the show „Delirium” choreographed by Mia Michaels. Since 2008 Milan is a freelancer artis working with companies and independent choreographers such as Krétakör Theater, Hungarian National Theater, Anna Réti, Claudio Stellato, Amos Ben-Tal, Rui Horta Stage Works, Nigel Charnock, Éva Duda, Gregor Lustek and Rosana Hribar. In 2012 Milan created „From the Waltz to the Mambo” a short solo which he has won several prizes (2012 Best Solo and Audience Prize, International SoloDuo Festival Budapest. 2013 Audience Prize, Stuttgart Solo Dance Competition. 2013 Audience Prize, Gdansk Solo Dance Contest. 2014 Special Mention Award, BE Festival, Birmingham, UK.) At 2013 Milan Ujvari in collaboration with Bea Egyed started Radioballet, a platform of thier choreographic work. They made two full night long dance theater shows (The Nature of Love 2013, Totem and Taboo 2015). From the middle of 2012 he started to teach contemporary dance. He held international and local workshops. In 2014 he became a regular contemporary dance teacher in Ágnes Nemes Nagy Medium Level Art School, and he had been invited several times as a guest teacher to the Hungarian Theater and Film Univerity of Budapest. Milan is currently based and works in Budapest, Hungary.
